So, brain has to go into over drive. Let’s create something. Let’s start something.

It’s after my second day of work at CBS’s WJFK. I love it. The first day was busy and like all first days go I didn’t have a clue what was going on. I knew how to do my job (more-or-less) just didn’t quite get the grasp of everything at first. Today went much better. I think I’m going to like it a lot. We had a manager meeting today where I had to introduce myself in front of all these people (most of whom I hadn’t met) and that was a little nerve wrecking. But, all-in-all it was good. It’s a lot more relaxed than I thought it would be. Everyone keeps asking me if I want to leave yet. Nope. Hell, it’s fun. Hard work doesn’t scare me, but boredom does.

Tomorrow is another day. I’ve been getting to bed really early lately. Two nights before 11:30. Damn, I’m getting old. Tonight probably won’t be different. Oh well.

Well, I’m here. I’m all moved in, the apartment is all set up. Well, I have to put together a dresser for my bedroom (gonna take forever) but that’s all. It’s kind of nice, my apartment provides free satellite TV with every premie channel I could ask for. I’ve been driving the roads most of the time I have been here just to get used to the area and the traffic. I don’t think it’ll be much hassle as long as I stay off the Interstates. I81 isn’t that big of a deal, but I66 and I95 (along with the loop and inner loop) I’ll pass on driving on much.

I think today I’m going to get ready for work tomorrow. I really have no idea how these people will be. They seemed cool when I went to interview so I hope that continues.

I wish I had someone to hang out with to kill all this boredom.

Yesterday at work it was the busiest it has been in months. Today isn’t any better. I did however find time to post a blog entry. These next few nights are going to be weird. I have so much to do and so little time to do it. I want to hang out with everyone I know before I move. I know I’m going to miss all my Boone friends so much. Derrick, Whitney, Laura, and Brier. I am going to miss going on all the misadventures with them. Camping, hiking, swimming… All of it. I’m going to miss my Wilkes friends too. Chris, Heather, Josh, and Michael. I don’t get to see them as much as I like now and it’s going to be even harder in the future. They have all promised to come visit me. They had better if they know what’s good for them. I’m going to be even farther away from Noah. Which sucks some major ass. That son-of-a-bitch is like a brother. I am also going to miss the people here at WKBC. They are a great bunch of people to work with.

My family is holding up well. My mom is of course stressing out to the max. Not about me moving away but about me getting ready to move. She wants DC to become a new home for me so I’m comfortable. My grandparents are going to miss me too. My dad and Grandpa Jack are pretty sad that I’m leaving. I will miss them all so much. But, DC is just a 5.5 hour drive and I’m sure I’ll come back every few weeks. I have made that trip a ton, so I know the roads and don’t mind the drive.

As for tonight and tomorrow. I need to get a few things done around town… Finalize my canceling of my YMCA membership, find a few more clothes appropriate for working in DC, get a hair cut, and a lot of other mundane things. Speaking of the “Y”, I’m going to miss working out every day after work. Good thing there is a Gold’s Gym right across the street from WJFK. So, I’m going to join it.

Well, one more step in life in the right direction I hope is being made.

Well, after 1 year at WKBC I felt that it was time to move on. It’s not that I didn’t like working there, but I just felt that I needed something bigger, more of a challenge. So, I applied at WJFK-FM 160.7 in Washington DC. I got the job. Go me, right? Well, now that I’ve taken the job I have to leave Wilkes and everything that I know to move into a city where I don’t know anyone. I found an apartment that is not too shabby. It’s in a nice neighborhood and it comes furnished. My ONLY complaint is that I do not have cell phone signal there. Crap. Might have to look into switching providers mid-contract. And dammit if I don’t like my phone. I love it. So this makes me unhappy. But, with the ups comes the downs, I guess.
